A couple months ago I started running again, and a good motivating force for me is to sign up for a race. I signed up to run the Butch Cassidy 10k in Zions because I had ran it before and loved it. The morning of the race made me nervous because it was SO cold and rainy. I did everything I could to warm myself up before the run.
Alan missed the shuttle to the end of the race, and they wouldn't let him drive to it so he ended up having to hang out by himself the entire time. Luckily he had the camera and was able to take some great shots.
When the race started I could barely feel my toes and it's super awkward to run with chunks of ice for toes. Luckily by mile 2.5 I was gaining feeling back in them, but then another mile down the road it started snowing. I had to keep my eyes down on the road because otherwise I wouldn't be able to see where I was going. Not to mention the last .5 miles of the run it was on a dirt road, but had turned into mud because of all the rain and snow. I was super bugged that my BRAND NEW shoes got all muddy.
A shuttle took me from the end of the race to the beginning and my sweet husband was waiting for me and as soon as he saw me, he got out of the car and started taking pictures. He's been so great in supporting me with my running. He's always willing to watch Henry, or go drop me off somewhere so I can run home.
I was happy with my time, and felt accomplished that I had set and met a goal! Here's the beginning to many more runs!
