All things punkin

We decided to be ultra festive today and spend our evening to all things pumpkin. We started out with carving pumpkins. Alan and Annie were seriously dedicated to it.

Alan was a little skeeved out by the texture, but persevered and kept going.

Henry wasn't so sure about the texture either, and if you look at his mouth you can tell he's saying, "Ewww!!"

Little Dude can concentrate so well on stuff! He sat there poking and turning that chunk of pumpkin just right for quite a while.

The final products! Alan did the grim reaper.

Annie did a haunted house!

After we were done carving, Annie went through and picked all the seeds out so we could bake a tasty treat!

A little season salt, garlic powder, and butter.. Yumski!

Then last, but certainly not least, I made some of my famous pumpkin chocolate chip cupcakes for our neighbors. These little puppies are a hot item, and don't last long.

I can't wait to take the boy trick or treating.. I know he's going to have an absolute blast, so stay tuned for the pictures!

Sunday Drive

We decided to take a little Sunday drive today, and explore some areas of St. George that Alan hasn't ever seen, and I haven't been for years.

We came upon this field of horses and it was the weirdest thing.. they were all facing the same direction and eating. Weird, right?

I may or may not have had Alan stop and get me some fries. Sometimes I can't help myself.

The other day I was sitting in the house and realized it had been quiet for a while. I love me some quiet time, but when my monster is home I know he's usually up to no good. So I went walking into his room and this is what I found.

He was on his belly and coloring while watching "Cars" (his newest obsession).

I love that he's getting better at entertaining himself and can give me a couple free minutes to do whatever I want.

He might not be ready for markers yet.

My 27th

So never mind the fact that my birthday was about 2 weeks ago.. but it was a good weekend so I wanted to share some pictures. Something about this St. George living that makes me want to be outside and not sitting at a computer.

Anyway, the day before my birthday my mom planned a dinner for the family. It was fun because Alan's parents and sister were down that week for a vacation so we got to have both sides there!

This little dude's name is Gavin, and when he was a baby he looked JUST like Alan.

My mom made my very favorite food. Italian Pasta.. it's basically a bunch of veggies, chicken, noodles and parmesan cheese. YUM.

I had a nasty cold that whole week, so I used a piece of paper to fan out my birthday candles.

I love being close to my family!

Then the morning of my birthday, I woke up and Alan had already left to work. I was feelin bad that he didn't even kiss me goodbye, but when I went into the bathroom to get ready there was this note above my sink.

I also got a package in the mail from my bestie, Lana, in SLC. Nothin better than a package in the mail.

Then that night we went out for sushi and curry.

I'm not even going to get started on how close I am to 30, but at least I'm in a good spot in my life and I feel like every day I become a better me. Thanks to everyone who helped my celebrate my day.

6 Years!

For our 6 year anniversary we decided to head down to Las Vegas for a night. We spent the day shopping (the only way I got Alan to agree to it is the fact that Henry wasn't with us) and walking the strip. When we checked into our room we found out that they had upgraded us to a suite and gave us a free bottle of champagne! We got ready for the night and went and ate at Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville, then went and saw the show Zumanity. It was an amazing night, and it was really nice being able to spend some alone time with Alan. I think that it's a great reminder of why we got married, and why we want to stay married.

Sorry for the lame bathroom shots, but I spaced on taking my camera! Duh!

I find myself loving Alan more today, than I did on our wedding day. We've been through some crazy things together, but it's only helped us grow together. There are some things that we say to each other every so often and there is a story behind them, but to spare the cheese and sap I'll just write them down so I never forget:
"I don't want much, I just want you"
"At least we have each other"

I love you sweetheart. Here's to another amazing year!
