2 years ago last summer, Rachel moved up to Salt Lake and into our basement. We never really set a date on when she had to move out, but in my mind I was thinking a year was going to be plenty.
That year went by and I told her that she didn't need to move out if she didn't want to. Secretly I was hoping that she'd stay because of what a big help she was with Henry. Little things like watching him so I could go grocery shopping, or big things like watching him every other Sunday while I was at work.
Through that time I think that Henry and his Aunt Rach grew a special bond. We also joke that she is his "2nd mom" because if I'm not around, then he always goes to her and she knows exactly what to do.
I knew that she wouldn't stick around forever, but the time she was with us is one that I'll always treasure. I am grateful that I have a house big enough so that she could live with me, and to see her grow a relationship with Henry that no one else has. I know that they will always be close.
We love and will miss you Aunt Rach!
