For my spring break we decided to head up to SLC for the weekend. It ended up being a busy week because we had Jason's wedding, and I threw a shower for Lana. There will be pictures to come of both events!

We wanted to start the week off by taking HJ to the zoo. Last time we took him it ended up with Alan carrying a cranky boy the entire day, so I was a little hesitant about taking him. Turns out my little dude LOVES animals and we had a fantastic day.

This picture might not mean a lot to most, but to me it means that my baby is growing up. Henry is usually TERRIFIED of anything that he doesn't recognize. So for him to sit on these little statues was a huge milestone for him.

Same goes for this picture. He went right up to that elephant and climbed on without any guidance from Alan or me.

One of the highlights was when HJ saw the tiger. He was running around not paying attention, and as soon as he realized what was right in front of the glass window, he turned and looked at his Aunt Chanley with huge eyes. He has mentioned the tiger several times since then.

Another first for HJ that day was wanting to ride the carousel. A couple summers ago we went to Palm Springs and tried to take him on one, and he about clawed my eyeballs out when I put him on it. But this time was completely different.. well almost. Alan took him up there and HJ was adamant about riding the "ellie" (elephant) but as soon as Alan put him up there, he got really nervous and wanted off right away.

So they settled on the non moving peacock bench. :o)

So glad we got this picture on camera. Those two are best buddies!

Just Because

Little man is almost 3 years old! In all honesty, this stage hasn't been my very favorite but after talking to other moms and reading articles, I realize it's just him trying to express himself. It doesn't help that he's still not speaking as well as he should.

We've started to slowly introduce potty training to him. He's not acting very interested in it, and I really don't want to push it with him. Henry is very dependent and only wants to do things if it's his idea. Although I did manage to talk him into putting on his big boy undies and modeling them. Seriously so cute.

This St. George weather has been amazing, and allows for lots of trips to the park. My guess is he's going to be a rock climber one day.

Chocolate milk is a staple in this house. Except one day he decided he wanted a weight loss shake, so Alan gave it to him and sent this picture to me. I about died laughing.

His favorite outfit. The moose hoodie, pajamas and his cars slippers.

I know it's hard to believe, but I seriously didn't put that bow on his head. Not to mention if anyone tried to take it off him, he lost it.

This is the only way I can get shopping done. A bag of popcorn, and a drink. It also helps if I let him play games on my phone.

I LOVE his kissable lips.

Happy Birthday Uncle D!

Nothin' makes me feel older than when my baby brother turns 18.

Henry sure loves when Uncle D comes to the house. It's been fun watching them build a relationship. When Henry first came home, Dylan did NOT want to hold him. But now they are best buds.

My Momma!

Teaching Henry all about football!

Presidents Day

Between work and school, I never have a FULL day off from everything, but on Presidents Day I did, so we made sure to make the best of it. We drove down to Las Vegas for the day to take HJ to the Shark Reef Aquarium. He loved the one in Sandy, so I knew it would be a hit. Little did I know the escalators would steal the day. Maybe next time I won't drop 18 dollars on a ticket, and just take him on the escalators!

And in case you are wondering who this clean shaven fellow is.. it's my husband, Alan. About one a year he decides to shave, but after a week of doing it he goes back to the mountain man beard.

We had such a great time, and I'm glad we went. I'm already looking forward to the next time I can spend a day with my two favorite boys.

Happy Valentines Day!

We're home with the sniffles, snots and coughs today but wanted to wish every one a Happy Valentines Day!

If it weren't for our favorite festive Aunt Lana, we wouldn't have anything to wear today! Thanks again, we love you!

Hiking

One of our goals was to spend more time outside this year, and luckily we live in just the right city for it. We decided to go for a hike in the Snow Canyon area a little while ago, and when I say hike I mean continually getting off the trail and having to climb all over the rocks to find our way back.

As of late..

It's been a minute since I've blogged, so I thought I'd do a little update. School has started for me, and this is where you can find me on a daily basis. It's been a rough transition but with the help of Alan and my mom it's has been manageable. That's not to say I'm not already counting down till spring break!

And this guy? Well he got a guitar for Christmas and has been taking lessons ever since. He is often found in our closet practicing. Haha. He likes to go in there so he doesn't bother anyone with the sound. He's already improving so much. And did I mention he looks smokin' hot while doin it?

And for our little dude? Well he's still managing to make a million messes in an insanely short amount of time.

Still insanely cute, though.
