Who am I?

Being the voice of this blog, and the one typically behind the camera, I thought that for memories sake I should highlight number 1. Me. Although contrary to my blog you might think that it's Henry or Alan, or quite possibly my beloved giant cupcake mold. But there are a lot of things going on up stairs in this head of mine and I need to spill it on paper so one day when Henry is a father he can look back at this and know that his mother wasn't as crazy as he remembers. I could quite possibly be even more crazy.

- If one foot or hand gets wet, I have to wet the other.
-I can not eat skittles of different color together.
-I have to eat skittles in 2's, that goes for french fries as well.
- I might come off as shy when you first meet me, but I can promise it'll all be over soon.
-I am a total freak about my bank account, and do things that even I can't explain.
-I never thought that I could be crafty, until I met my good friend Lana. Now I think I'm pretty good.
- I knew the entire time I was in the hospital that I would deliver Henry early despite all the medical intervention. Call it mothers intuition, but I knew.
-I thoroughly enjoy cooking and can whip up a mean lasagna.
-I am very free spirited and choose to follow my own path.
-I have made bad decisions, but know that it's molded me into who I am today.
- I hate walking on the beach and getting sand on my feet.
-I hate dirty feet and hands.
-I can't stand my childs face to be dirty. Even when he was in an isolette in the hopsital I cleaned his face every day.
-I love to find and pick black heads on Alan's back.
-I have OCD when it comes to picking my split ends. Worst. Habit. Ever.
-I could eat a twisty cone every day.
-The trashier the reality show, the more I like it.
-I love making lists and color coding them where applicable.
-I can't stand not knowing the plan for an event.
-I call my mom at least once a day.
-Although I did not grow up in the same house as my father, I tend to say and do things that are just like him. It tends to freak people out.
-Music is my life.
-I tend to be very forward and don't beat around the bush. Want the honest opinion? Then ask me.

-One of the worst feelings to me is velvet or flour on my hands or on the countertop. It literally sends chills down my spine.

I am me, and every day I am becoming more comfortable with it.

Yellowstone!

Last year the Roberts all decided to rent a cabin in Yellowstone and spend the weekend together. We were going to go as well (even paid the deposit) but our Henry J decided to jump the gun and come early. Luckily this year we were all healthy and ready for a little escape. The cabin was absolutely beautiful and the company couldn't have been better.

This is in the living room and it shows the fireplace and a cool bridge that goes from bedrooms to a room with a pool table.

This is the view from the back deck to the river and fire pit.

This is overlooking Mesa Falls.

By far one of my favorite pictures.

Todd (brother in law) and Roland (father in law).

Alan with his sisters Sheryl and Andrea.

The best in laws you could ask for.

Alan and Todd biked from Old Faithful to the opening of the park, a whopping 33 miles!

1 Year Stats

I forgot I didn't post anything about his weight and stuff for his big YEAR mark. He weighed 17 lbs and 12 oz, which isn't that far off from the last time he got weighed. He fell back off the charts and it made me nervous so I've been giving him little snacks all day. Turns out he HATES avocado, but LOVES cheese. He has also finally mastered the art of feeding himself, and can I just say how awesome it has been.

We also had to bid farewell to our beloved Bumbo chair. He was getting to the point where he would see something he wanted, and completely twist himself out of it. Not safe. So rather than drop 150 bucks on a high chair, I went out and bought this awesome little seat. He loves it, I love it, and Alan loves it (because it's red). Done and done.

What a cheese ball.

Something else that I love about Henry, is that he's pretty content on playing by himself. He likes to know that someone is in the area though, or else he gets nervous that we've left him for good.

I love this kid.

Bike Tour of the SLC Marathon!

At the beginning of this year, Alan and I promised each other we would be more active and physically fit. We both love to bike so I thought it would be fun to bike the marathon this year. Our good friends Ross and Jackie Pfeiffer also love to bike so we signed up with them. It was an awesome experience and I am so glad we did it.

Bright and early at the starting line.

1 down, many more to go!

Party take 2.

We had a little banana split party on the day of Henry's birthday, and it was fun because all of Henry's friends were able to come. It's always a good time when we can get Eden, Champ and Henry together. Although come to find out, Henry is a little bit of a bully so we need to start practicing on our social skills. Luckily he didn't get anyone too bad!

Party!

A BIG thanks to my mom for all her help in planning this birthday party. Also to all of you that made an effort to come! It was a great day and we will remember it for always. Happy Birthday Henry J.
